Hidetoshi Nakata was a Japanese professional football player, who was born in Kofu, Yamanashi, Japan on January 22, 1977. Taking the advantages of speed, creativity competitive ability, Nakata was widely taken as one of the best footballers of his generation. In 1995, Nakata started his professional career as a midfielder, finished as a member of the Asian Football Confederation Player of the Year in 1997 and 1998.
He played for Japan at the 1998 FIFA World Cup qualification, scoring three goals in the final with Iran. Having played in several season at Serie A and the English Premier League, Nakata declared the end of football playing career aged 29 on Jul. 2, 2006. Considering fabulous performances on football fields, he was list into the FIFA 100 by Pelé in Mar. 2004.
